Update on Nutro Pet Food Warning

(by Mrs. Sketch)
This is important information for any pet owners feeding Nutro pet food. On July 17th, I wrote about a warning I had received from the rescue group I'm involved with regarding Nutro's Natural Choice pet food being suspected in the death of 6 dogs in Florida.

In checking further this week, I found that there have been more cases reported of dogs and cats getting seriously ill after eating from newly purchased bags of Nutro pet food in many other states as well. There is quite a long list of people complaining about Nutro at the Consumer Affairs website. Here's the link if you're interested in reading further:

If you'd like to read my previous post on Nutro dog food, CLICK HERE. Bottom line - I'd stop feeding Nutro immediately to be safe. The problem with these pet foods such as the pet food recall in 2007 seems to center around the quality of items in the food, particularly the meat source (is it human grade meat or chemical laden meat byproducts from rendering plants), cheap fillers, chemicals allowed in the food from rendering plants, and the chemical preservatives used. It's killing our pets, or at the very least causing diseases that previously pets did not have. If you'd like a list of all natural pet foods that I have personally checked out and recommend, go to my pet blog The Cat/Dog Log, and check out the list in my sidebar. I have also posted instructions for making your own pet food - see "Posts by Category - dog diet or cat diet."
